SUPPORTING MIND, BODY, AND NERVOUS SYSTEM.

Hi, I am Amy Adams.

Welcome. I’m a Certified Counsellor based in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, offering therapy sessions both in person and online. I work with teenagers and adults, and warmly welcome people of all neurotypes.

My approach to counselling is holistic, compassionate, and neurodiversity-affirming. We all have different ways of experiencing and moving through the world. Therapy with me is about supporting you to live in a way that feels more authentic, meaningful, and aligned with your values.

In our sessions, I aim to gently guide you towards:

  • greater freedom and self-understanding

  • values-based living

  • a lighter relationship with suffering

  • increased capacity to navigate life with self-compassion

Counselling provides a safe, open, and non-judgmental space to explore what matters most to you. Together, we can make sense of your experiences, patterns, and challenges. I draw on a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, tailoring each session to your individual needs.

  • "My daughter feels so confident and put together after you have spoken with her. Thank you for always being available when she needs support and for helping children like mine feel confident."

  • "Amy helps me feel recognised and validated without judgement. After my first 3 sessions, I felt really comfortable with her and I love that. I also love that she's very flexible during sessions. Amy helps me understand how I feel about different situations. She is good at listening when I need those times. I would recommend her to others because I know I am not the only one struggling and think people who are neurodivergent need someone like Amy."

  • "What I like best about my sessions with Amy is her communication style and empathy. Sessions have been helpful for me to develop scripts for self-advocacy and to understand my neurology better. I have gained: deeper insights into my needs, strategies for wellbeing, validation, more self acceptance, useful information and resources tailored to my neurodivergence, and a safe space to talk about my experiences."

  • "I really like how organised and prepared Amy is for sessions, yet how flexible she is too. For example, she will have a plan of what we will cover in sessions, with helpful resources on hand, and our sessions often pan out according to plan. Sometimes though, other stuff comes up in conversation, and in those instances, Amy is great at pivoting and working through that stuff with me instead. The sessions have been really helpful and she offers a terrific service."

  • “I am quite familiar with Amy’s importance and empathetic work which so empowers girls & women on the autistic spectrum. I treasure her life’s service and mission that has led to profound growth, acceptance & frankly loving-kindness of self and others. I have spoken with parents deeply touched by her work performed with kindness, clarity and vision."
